When faced with numerous challenges, pneumonia on 9/11, a year in the hospital with meningitis and complications due to having AIDS, a ventricle shunt put into my head, bilateral hip replacements, a broken femur due to a fall six weeks after my hip surgery, a divorce and a very hard break-up, I did everything possible to confront my experience and overcome these challenges.
